Erin
Breene, cello, is currently enjoying an active life as a chamber musician.
Most recently, she accepted the invitation to move to the San Diego
area as the permanent cellist of the California Quartet. Prior to
this move, she performed on numerous chamber music concert series
in the New York City area including Brooklyn's BargeMusic, "Wednesday's
At One" in Alice Tully Hall, and the Stefan Wolpe Centennial Series
in Merkin Hall. This past April, Erin was invited to perform with
pianist, Claude Frank, and with New York's Trio Movado as part of
a week-long chamber music festival in Laguna Beach, CA. As cellist
of the Andros String Quartet, Erin was a finalist in the 2003 Concert
Artist's Guild International Competition. With the Basmati String
Quartet, Erin won Grand Prize in the 1999 Coleman National Chamber
Music Competition and Second Prize in the 1999 Fischoff National Chamber
Music Competition. Also an active orchestral player, Erin has served
as principal cello of the Juilliard Orchestra and Symphony, the Shepherd
School Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra,
and the Aspen Sinfonia. Erin received her BM from Rice University's
Shepherd School where she was a student of Paul Katz and in May 2003,
Erin received her MM degree as a student of Timothy Eddy at the Juilliard
School. |
